Performance Test Engineer

Permanent | Hybrid (Leeds – 3 days onsite)

I’m currently working with a key client undergoing a large-scale technology transformation, and they’re looking for a Performance Test Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond pure execution into a role where you can shape performance strategy, influence engineering practices, and mentor teams while still staying hands-on.

What you’ll be doing

• Driving and evolving the performance testing strategy
• Working closely with engineers, architects, and product teams
• Introducing best practices and QE (Quality Engineering) ways of working
• Running proof of concepts on new tools and technologies
• Troubleshooting performance and scalability issues across environments
• Supporting shift-left testing and embedding performance into the SDLC

What they’re looking for:

• Experience with tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or K6 is a nice to have
• Strong performance troubleshooting and analysis skills
• Exposure to cloud environments (Azure ideal)
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Application Insights, New Relic)
• Ability to work with logs/metrics (SQL, KQL, NRQL etc. a plus)
• Someone who can mentor others and drive standards
