Community Mobile Lead

Job summary

This role serves as the lead technician responsible for delivering mobile and desktop IT support to LGT's community-based clinicians, including remote access and other essential technical services. Key responsibilities include operating system imaging, user onboarding, training junior technicians, and supporting the maintenance of critical infrastructure such as Azure, cloud platforms, and Active Directory services. The post holder will also lead associated projects.

Under supervision, the role will also involve supporting the management of a Windows-based network comprising over 6,000 workstations. Duties will include carrying out a range of maintenance, evaluation, installation, and troubleshooting activities to ensure optimal user productivity. The postholder may also be required to evaluate emerging technologies, assist in piloting new solutions, and contribute to the management and support of associated IT projects

Main duties of the job

Take responsibility for delivering dedicated IT support to approximately 700 mobile clinical and non-clinical practitioners within LGT's community services. This is a vital role supporting community nurses, midwives, and clinicians across more than 15 specialties, all of whom rely extensively on mobile technology to provide care in the community

Install, configure, repair and maintain, as per set standards and procedures, all new and replacement PCs, Printers and Peripheral equipment, carrying out full installation and testing as necessary with minimum disruption to the Trust"s computing services. Primary duties will be management of licences, authentication, OS imaging of devices, on-boarding of users, training junior technicians and managing the required infrastructure such as Azure, cloud and AD services.

2. Install and configure, as per set standards and procedures, all Trust approved PC software, carrying out full testing as necessary.

3. Provide telephone and on-site support to IT users

4. Liaise with the IT Service Desk to obtain work, provide updates and close calls, ensuring that log details are completed in accurate detail.

5. Liaise with users to provide information about the services provided and outstanding work, including Service Desk logs.

6. Escalate unresolved problems/issues to the Senior Technical Specialists.

7. Assist the Senior Technical Specialists in IT projects as requested.

Education, Qualifications and Training

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Building Mobile computing devices using In Tunes
  • Isosec Authentication and Virtual smartcards
  • Managing LGT Anywhere Access
  • Educated to GCSE English and Maths level or equivalent
Desirable
  • Microsoft qualifications or other appropriate IT qualifications
  • Memberships to IT professional bodies
  • Active Directory and Azure experience
  • Managing office 365 Licencing
