EPR Go-Live Programme Lead

Job summary

The EPR Go-Live Programme Lead is responsible for leading the planning, coordination and delivery of the operational readiness and Go-Live activities associated with the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementation programme.

The post holder will provide expert programme and change management leadership to ensure that clinical, operational, digital and technical teams are effectively prepared for a safe and successful transition to the new EPR system.

Working within a complex healthcare environment, the post holder will lead the development and delivery of Go-Live readiness activities, including readiness assessments, operational support arrangements, command centre planning, issue management, stakeholder engagement, communications, floor walker deployment and post-Go-Live support.

The post holder will work collaboratively with senior clinicians, operational leaders, digital teams, programme colleagues, implementation partners and suppliers to ensure effective management of dependencies, risks and delivery milestones.

A key responsibility will be ensuring that organisational readiness is evidenced, risks are identified and mitigated, and appropriate governance and escalation arrangements are maintained throughout Go-Live.

The post holder will provide leadership within a matrix management environment and will support the delivery of a sustainable transition from implementation into business-as-usual operations.

Main duties of the job

o Go-Live Programme Delivery

o Provide senior programme management leadership for the operational delivery of EPR Go-Live activities.

o Lead the development and maintenance of integrated Go-Live plans, ensuring alignment between clinical, operational, technical and supplier activities.

o Coordinate delivery of key Go-Live milestones and ensure dependencies are actively managed.

o Go-Live Readiness Management

o Lead the coordination of organisational Go-Live Readiness Assessments, including preparation, evidence gathering, review and reporting.

o Develop readiness tracking mechanisms, dashboards and reporting tools to provide assurance of delivery progress.

o Work with clinical, operational and digital teams to ensure readiness requirements are understood and achieved.

o Go-Live Operational Planning and Support

o Lead the development of operational plans required to support successful Go-Live delivery.

o Coordinate Go-Live support arrangements including

o Ensure appropriate onboarding, briefing and induction arrangements are in place for internal and external Go-Live support resources.

o Command Centre and Issue Management

o Support establishment and operation of the Go-Live command centre.

o Coordinate issue reporting, logging, prioritisation, escalation and resolution processes.

o Post- Go-Live Support

o Work with application teams and suppliers to support prioritisation and resolution of post-live issues.

The post holder will provide leadership within a matrix management environment and will support the delivery of a sustainable transition from implementation into business-as-usual operations.

Person Specification

Qualifications/Education

Essential
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. healthcare management, digital transformation, programme management, organisational change, service improvement).
  • Formal qualification or substantial demonstrable experience in change management methodologies.
  • Evidence of recent continuing professional development relevant to programme management, digital transformation, healthcare change or leadership.
Desirable
  • Formal qualification in a recognised project/programme management methodology (e.g. MSP Practitioner, PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM, equivalent).
  • Qualification or accreditation in digital transformation, healthcare informatics, clinical systems or related discipline.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. APM, BCS, HIMSS, Faculty of Clinical Informatics).

  • Extensive experience of successfully delivering complex change, transformation or digital programmes within large, complex organisations.
