Integration Analyst

Job summary

Reporting to the Senior Integration Analysts, this role entails the development, testing, maintenance, deployment, and support of the Integration Engines across the Enterprise and Epic Bridges interfaces across both Trusts.

The incumbent will manage Interfaces ServiceNow ticketsin accordance withtrust SLAs and handle Epic Bridges Error triaging. This involves collaborating with relevant Epic teams andassistingin clearing Bridges error work queues. The analyst is also responsible for ensuring the interface documentation is consistently updated.

Additionally, the post holder will oversee the impact of interfaces during Epic upgrades in the Trust, controlling the interface delivery lifecycle, and communicating any significant changes with the Work stream Leads.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure compliance to agreed change processes and change control mechanisms

  • To support secure decommissioning of any legacy integration environments, data disposal, messagingretirementor transfers

  • To work on the new Integration projects as assigned by Senior Integration Analysts and the Integration Manager

  • The post-holder would be requiredtoparticipatein the on-call rota for 24/7 support

Communication and working relationships

  • Working closely with Epic work stream leads, controlling the interface delivery life cycle

  • Working closely with the system suppliers, making sure any interface issues are addressed intimelymanner

  • Escalating any serious issues to Senior Integration Analysts, Integration Manager and/or the Senior Leadership Team throughappropriate channels

  • Working with local Network, Server teams, and Data Centre support to address any server, network issues and making sure the Integration platform is behaving as expected

  • Toestablishgood working relationships at all levels with Trust staff and other departments within ICTS

  • Ability to communicate to Clinical users the complex technical issues in a way non-technical colleagues would understand

  • Develop andmaintaineffective networks and relationships with internal and external contacts

  • Report Interface work progress on a weekly basis

Analysis and judgement

  • Analyse and review test progress and variances to define recommendations tomaintainschedules and raise any risks or issues highlighted through testing to theappropriate level;

  • Investigate end users preferences and populate databases as part of the configuration process;

Planning

  • Be responsible forown area of work, working autonomously to plan and organise workload to meet multiple and often conflicting deadlines;

  • Initiate, arrange, chair and/orparticipatein meetings between Trust staff (including senior Trust staff) and/or the clinical systems team to discuss integration requirements and workflows and/or areas of concern and/or take notes of any action points;

  • Chase colleagues and Trust staff to provide information ina timelyfashion to enable deadlines to be met;

  • Meet regularly with the Senior Integration Analysts and/or Integration Manager to negotiate with,reviewand prioritise the scope of the integrationin accordance withteams plans;

  • Plan the design and delivery of complex interfaces

  • Ensure that all generated documentation is fit for purpose, accepted andretainedin line with the Team documentation best practices

  • Input data into spreadsheets, Worddocumentsor PowerPoint presentations, ensuring accuracy and adhering to style guides/templates;

Skills/Knowledge/Ability

Essential
  • HL7 Interface development skills using technologies like .Net, Java, ObjectScript etc.
  • Expertise in problem solving, able to analyse and interpret highly complex IT problems using own initiative and ability to support others to develop this skill.
  • Expert knowledge of at least one mainstream programming language Basic Project management knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - can explain complex requirements in a clear and concise manner, coupled with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand.
  • Evidence of working sensitively but effectively with professional staff in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to make clear rational decisions, exercising independent judgement in a profession and competent manner
