Technical Data Product/Governance Lead - Python - SQL

Experienced Data Product/Governance Lead needed by global organisation to lead roadmap, delivery and adoption of data governance capabilities.

You'll work across product, data and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions across data catalogues, metadata, lineage, data quality and data contracts, and bring structure to existing capabilities, translate complex requirements into clear priorities, and drive adoption across the organisation.

This is a hands-on, technical role. You must be capable of coding in Python, writing SQL queries, and engaging with data related technical implementation details.

Key responsibilities:

• Own the Data Governance product roadmap and prioritise delivery based on business value
• Lead the rollout and optimisation of governance tooling, including data catalogue and quality capabilities
• Translate technical requirements into actionable user stories and delivery plans
• Partner with engineering, architecture and senior stakeholders to embed governance practices

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner, Data Product Owner, Data Engineer or similar
• Skilled in SQL, Python and data modelling
• Experience with data governance concepts including catalogues, lineage, metadata, quality and contracts
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical teams and senior leaders

Location: Richmond upon Thames (hybrid, one day per week in the office)
