Founder's Associate
London, UK · Full-time · On-site (Victoria)
THE COMPANYLightWork AI is building the operating system for modern property management.
Our platform, Felicity, is an intelligent AI assistant that automates the operational workload that slows down property managers, letting agents and build-to-rent teams. Felicity manages communications, compliance workflows, maintenance coordination and scheduling — enabling property businesses to operate with the efficiency of modern digital platforms.
The UK property management services industry is a £33B market undergoing a structural shift toward automation. Property teams currently spend up to 75% of their time on repetitive operational admin, and our AI is designed to automate up to 80–90% of these workflows.
We are already live with pilot customers, with overwhelmingly positive feedback and strong demand as we scale toward revenue in 2026.
LightWork AI is backed by experienced founders, industry advisors, and investors, and we are building toward a clear goal: to create the defining AI platform for property operations and build a unicorn company in the process.
We're a small team moving at an uncommon pace. If you want a comfortable 9-5, this isn't it. If you want to be close to the action at a company that's going to matter, read on.
THE ROLEThis role sits at the centre of the company. You'll work directly with the co-founders and leadership team on the highest-priority problems across the business — from fundraising and commercial strategy to operations and hiring.
The best Founder’s Associate isn't a note-taker or a scheduler. They operate like a junior co-founder: structuring ambiguous problems, driving projects to completion, and making the founders sharper in every room they walk into.
If you want to understand how a category-defining company is built — and you're willing to do the work, not just watch — this is that opportunity.
WHAT YOU'LL OWNStrategic Support
- Help the co-founders prepare for board meetings, investor calls, and key decisions — building the models, writing the memos, and sharpening the arguments
- Own internal and external communications that require the founders' voice
- Track priorities across the business and flag what's falling through the cracks before it matters
Fundraising
- Support investor relations end-to-end: materials prep, data room management, scheduling, and follow-ups
- Ensure no investor relationship goes cold because of an admin or comms gap
- Help draft investor updates, decks, and external-facing materials
Commercial & Client Operations
- Coordinate key client relationships and ensure the founders are always well-prepared for commercial conversations
- Support pipeline tracking, contract coordination, and follow-up processes
- Identify where commercial operations can be tightened or systematised
Hiring
- Partner with the founders on building the team — sourcing, running processes, coordinating offers
- Help shape how LightWork AI presents itself as an employer
Projects
- Own ad hoc strategic and operational projects that don't yet have a home
- If something is stalled and no one is driving it, it's probably yours
Must-Haves
- 1–4 years of experience in management consulting (MBB or top-tier strategy), investment banking (bulge bracket), venture capital, Magic Circle/Silver Circle law, or as a founder/early employee at a high-growth startup.
- Minimum high 2.1 degree from a reputable, top-tier university
- Exceptionally strong written English — able to produce clear, polished work quickly
- Highly analytical — comfortable building financial models (DCFs, forecasts, investor-ready materials), structured reasoning, and synthesising information under time pressure
- High agency — you move without being asked and take full ownership of outcomes
- Commercially literate — you understand that revenue and client relationships are the priority
- Fluent with AI tools — you already use LLMs and AI-assisted workflows to move faster
- Discretion — you'll be in the room for conversations that don't leave the room
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to context-switch rapidly
- Comfortable with working 5 days per week in our office for the immediate future
- Must have existing UK work authorisation — we are unable to sponsor visas for this role
The person we're looking for has done one of the following:
- Built something (founder or early startup employee)
- Top-tier IB or strategy consulting (MBB, Oliver Wyman, Kearney)
- VC analyst or associate ready to be on the operator side
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience at a startup or scaleup in an operator (not investor) capacity
- PropTech, fintech, or B2B SaaS background
- Deep familiarity with the AI tooling landscape beyond basic LLM usage
- Experience with commercial transactions, contracts, or legal workflows
Not What We're Looking For
- Someone who needs a fully defined job description to operate
- Someone who manages up rather than runs ahead
WHAT YOU'LL GET
- Competitive salary + meaningful equity — this role is designed for someone motivated by ownership and upside, not just base compensation
- Private healthcare
- Exposure to every part of the business and the co-founders: strategy, product, commercial, finance, and hiring
- Office in Victoria, London
- A front-row seat — and a real role — in building a category-defining company
