At Linamar Light Metals Belfast, we work in partnership with our customers (FORD, STELLANTIS, JAGUAR LAND ROVER and GESTAMP) to develop and manufacture automotive components, specialising in cylinder heads, electric drive housings and structural components. We now wish to recruit for the following opportunities: IT Desk-Top Support Engineer (ITDSE/26/1) This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small, skilled team providing IT support to both production and service departments in our Dunmurry foundry. Key responsibilities will include the following: Provide assistance to users regarding hardware and software issues. Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, networks, and IT equipment. Help to maintain IT documentation, including asset registers, user guides, and support records to ensure accurate tracking of IT resources. Assist senior IT staff with projects and testing new technologies as needed. Applicants must have the following: A degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent qualification One years experience of working as an IT Desk-Top Support Engineer in a demanding environment Knowledge of GDPR Experience of: Office 2016 including installation Deployment and maintenance of desktop devices (PCs, laptops, printers, phones etc.) Good customer service, interpersonal & organisational skills Ability to work as part of a team Self-starter Good use of initiative & problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently While not essential, experience of the following would be beneficial: LAN/WAN network technologies Server Backup technologies: Backupexec, Veeam or similar Server Virtualisation - VMware Windows Server (2008 R2 2012) Active Directory Knowledge of an anti-virus software LLM Belfastemploys around 650 people, with over 50% of our workforce having over 10 years service and over 70% of the current management team having been recruited internally.
