Systems Engineer

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Landing Gear Systems Engineer to support the development and modification of aircraft landing gear systems, with a focus on braking and steering systems, requirements, safety, testing and validation, while working closely with engineering teams, suppliers and other key stakeholders.

Role: Systems Engineer
Pay: 30 per hour via Umbrella
Contract: 35 hours per week, 12 months contract
Location: Filton - 60% onsite
IR35: Inside
SC Clearance: BPSS

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design development and modifications of the Braking and Steering System
• Work with other ATA32 Engineers and signatories along with interfaces such as Systems and Structures, Certification Specialists, Chief Engineers, Procurement and Vendors
• Support Airbus Commercial ATA32 System activities, including introducing new functionality to systems, ensuring robust cascade of requirements to the system, and lead development of the system to meet the requirements
• Support phase reviews and Validation and Verification (V&V) activities. This is whilst ensuring activity meets Safety and technical needs, following the appropriate processes and procedures, demonstrating strong requirement adherence and V&V

Requirements:

Essential

• Engineering degree
• Experience in aerospace/aeronautical systems engineering
• Good knowledge of aircraft systems
• Requirements capture/cascade and V&V experience
• Knowledge of aircraft safety processes and regulations (e.g. ARP 4754, Part-21, CS 25.1309)
• Ability to work with suppliers, structures, certification and procurement teams

Desirable

• Experience with landing gear and hydraulic systems
• Knowledge of avionics associated with braking and steering
