Apprentice Software Developer (support team)
An apprentice developer writes, tests, and maintains code under the guidance of senior staff, usually in languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS, and C# (.net core). They focus on building foundational skills, fixing bugs, and collaborating on web or software applications within an Agile environment.
Role
Key Responsibilities:
Coding & Development: Assisting in coding, testing, and debugging applications, often focusing on UI components or back-end features.
Maintenance & Support: Maintaining existing codebases and resolving minor bug fixes.
Learning & Collaboration: Working alongside senior developers, attending team meetings, and participating in code reviews to learn best practices.
Documentation: Documenting technical tasks and creating reports for senior team members.
Troubleshooting: Analysing errors and supporting software performance improvements
Typical Daily Tasks:
- Writing new code for small features.
- Fixing bugs reported by users or testers.
- Reviewing existing documentation.
- Pair programming or attending stand-up meetings
Training
This is a programme with a blended delivery model. Day release during term time is an expectation at our main campus in Mansfield (NG18 5BH).
