IT PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Lion & Gazelle are a management consultancy, operating predominantly in the aviation sector. We're currently seeking an IT Portfolio Manager on a full-time, fixed term basis. The position reports into an L&G Managing partner, with day to day activities will be directed by our client's needs.
Responsibilities
IT PMO Portfolio Manager:
The IT portfolio manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing our client's IT investments, ensuring alignment with business goals, and optimising the value and performance of the IT portfolio.
Strategic Planning and Alignment
Align IT Investments with Business Goals:
· Ensure that IT projects and investments align with the overall business strategy and objectives.
Portfolio Strategy Development:
· Develop and maintain the IT portfolio strategy, including project selection, prioritisation, and resource allocation.
Portfolio Management
Project Evaluation and Selection:
· Evaluate potential IT projects based on criteria such as ROI, risk, strategic fit, and resource availability.
Resource Allocation:
· Allocate resources (budget, personnel, technology) across the portfolio to maximise value and efficiency.
Risk Management:
· Identify, assess, and manage risks across the IT portfolio to minimise potential negative impacts.
Financial Management
Budget Management:
· Oversee the IT portfolio budget, ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints.
Cost-Benefit Analysis:
· Conduct cost-benefit analyses to determine the financial viability and impact of IT investments.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Performance Metrics:
· Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of IT projects and the overall portfolio.
Progress Reporting:
· Provide regular reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders on portfolio performance, status, and risks.
Governance and Compliance
Governance Framework:
· Establish and enforce governance frameworks, policies, and standards for IT portfolio management.
Compliance:
· Ensure that IT projects and investments comply with relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies.
Stakeholder Management
Communication:
· Facilitate effective communication between IT and business stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding and alignment.
Stakeholder Engagement:
· Engage with stakeholders to gather input, manage expectations, and address concerns related to IT investments.
Continuous Improvement
Process Improvement:
· Continuously assess and improve IT portfolio management processes, tools, and methodologies.
Innovation:
· Promote and facilitate innovation within the IT portfolio to drive business value and competitive advantage.
Leadership and Team Management
Team Leadership:
· Lead and mentor a team of project managers, analysts, and other IT professionals involved in portfolio management.
Collaboration:
· Foster a collaborative environment to encourage knowledge sharing and teamwork across the IT department.
Change Management
Change Facilitation:
· Manage and facilitate change within the IT portfolio, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to business operations.
Qualifications
- The successful applicant must demonstrate at least 3 years experience in a Portfolio Management role.
- Experience with portfolio management tools and software
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and architecture is desirable
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- They must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Whilst this is a hybrid role, there is a requirement for the Portfolio Manager to be on site at least 3 days a week. It is therefore critical that applicants must be in commutable distance of Luton.
