SQL DBA

Lioness Recruitment are specialists in helping you find a role that will make you happy too. An established public sector business requires a Lead SQL DBA to support in shaping their data services. This role offers hybrid working, although the appointed candidate must be prepared to work onsite Monday to Friday if the need arises from offices based in Tyne & Wear.

Your daily responsibilities will be to manage a small team of database developers and to work alongside the intelligence, database, and system development teams to provide expertise on database design, implementation, maintenance, performance optimisation, data modelling and integration technologies. You will be responsible for the reliability, security, and scalability of the database infrastructure. Experience of both Azure & SQL server administration is essential for this role.

Essential experience:

• Demonstrable experience of working as a Senior/Lead DBA mentoring and coaching small teams of database developers (or similar)
• Strong SQL database design and development (database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures, develop SQL queries, ETL etc)
• Experience of both on-premise and cloud technologies and integration (APIs, web services etc)
• Data modelling
• Data integration development
• Performance optimisation, documentation, support and training
• Version control systems
• Flexible attitude towards onsite working
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate would be highly desirable
