Location: Central London
Contract: 6 month fixed-term contract
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £50,000 pro rata
Working arrangement: Hybrid, 1-2 days per week in the office
Start date: ASAP
A well-established London-based organisation is looking for a Data Engineer to support the technical delivery of its data strategy on a 6 month fixed-term contract.
This role sits within a Technology and Data team and will help shape the way the organisation uses data to improve insight, reporting and decision making. The work is focused on building reliable data foundations, improving automation, strengthening governance and making trusted data easier for colleagues to use across the organisation.
This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on data engineering work and wants to contribute to a wider transformation programme. The organisation is at an early stage of its data transformation, so there is scope to get involved in foundational structures rather than simply maintaining mature systems.
You will be working with both technical and business teams, helping to connect systems, improve data quality and support more consistent reporting. The role also offers exposure to areas such as data warehousing, self-service reporting, data governance and the technical preparation needed for ethical AI and machine learning activity.
The organisation offers a strong benefits package, and the hybrid pattern provides a sensible balance between office collaboration and focused work from home.
The role will involve:
You will also need to be comfortable explaining technical work to non-technical colleagues. Strong communication skills are important, as the role will involve working across different teams and helping colleagues access and understand trusted data.
Microsoft Fabric experience would be a useful advantage. Experience working with Salesforce data would also be beneficial, as would familiarity with public sector, economic development or strategic reporting frameworks. Knowledge of ethical AI or preparing data for machine learning would also be relevant.
This is a hybrid role based in Central London, with 1-2 days per week expected in the office. The role is offered on a 6 month fixed-term contract, working 35 hours per week, with a salary of £50,000 pro rata.
If your experience matches what they are looking for, please apply as soon as possible. We will review applications promptly and contact suitable candidates to discuss the role in more detail.
