Interim Finance Transformation Lead Devon (Hybrid with travel to sites) £400 - £500 Day Rate (DOE)
Our client, a growing UK-based organisation with multi-site operations, is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Transformation Lead to support a critical phase of finance evolution, with a strong emphasis on preparing for a future SAP S/4HANA implementation.
This engagement is initially offered as a short-term contract, providing an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a scalable, efficient, and technology-enabled finance function. The focus will be on assessing the current operating model, identifying improvement opportunities, and ensuring readiness for a major ERP transformation.
This is a hands-on, diagnostic assignment requiring a commercially focused finance professional who can operate at pace. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to evaluate existing structures, processes, and systems, while delivering a clear roadmap aligned to S/4HANA adoption and broader business growth.
The responsibilities:
- Examine how the finance team is structured and performs across UK location
- Review existing systems, workflows, and data movement to pinpoint gaps and risks
- Check the reliability and control of reporting, forecasting, and planning outputs
- Determine organisational readiness for a future SAP S/4HANA rollout
- Highlight areas for greater consistency, automation, and smarter system use
- Identify skills gaps and recommend team development or resourcing changes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to test insights and shape workable solutions
- Produce a clear report with key findings, priorities, and an S/4HANA-focused roadmap
The candidate:
- Proven experience leading finance transformation or operating model reviews in complex, multi-site environments
- Strong understanding of financial control, reporting, and UK compliance requirements
- Demonstrable experience supporting or delivering ERP implementations, ideally SAP S/4HANA
- Ability to bridge strategic planning with hands-on delivery
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Pragmatic, results-driven approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
