The role:
This role is to support the Site Security Controller by having ownership of many general office tasks, to include:
- Visitor Management
- Access Control system
- Initial POC for queries
- Hosting duties for Security related tasks and those where support to the Office team would benefit the business
- Once the appropriate level of clearance is achieved tasks will be enhanced to expand tasking to include for which it is required.
- Contract Security
As part of the overall Security team, support the Contract Security process to include:
- F1686's
- Security Aspects Letters, preparation, issuing, receiving response, tracking
- Update team records to ensure business has accurate information to the status of each projects SAL.
- Develop flow down Security Aspects Letters to be compliant with current policy
- Assist the Security Controller with management of incoming Security Aspects Letters
- Work schedule is 97/A - to provide effective Security Support for the site. It will be a site based role with situational teleworking only.
What will I be doing?
You will support the Site Security Controller in delivering effective site security and contract security management.
This role operates across two distinct areas within the Security functions which are Site Security Operations and Contract Security Management.
The post holder will take ownership of designated administrative and operational security tasks to ensure compliance with UK Government security policies and contractual security requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Security Operations
- Support the Site Security Controller with general security administration and operational tasks
- Manage Visitor Management processes in accordance with security policy
- Administer and maintain the Access Control System
- Act as the initial Point of Contact (POC) for security-related queries
- Undertake hosting duties for security-related activities and provide support to the Office team where this benefits the business
- Ensure FSC facility compliance with visitor and access requirements
- Contract Security
- As part of the wider Security team:
- Support the Contract Security process in accordance with GovS-007 and associated UK Government Security Policies
- Manage and administer F1686 documentation
- Prepare, issue, receive, track, and manage Security Aspects Letters (SALs)
- Maintain accurate records to ensure the business has up-to-date visibility of each project’s SAL status
- Develop compliant flow-down Security Aspects Letters aligned to current policy
- Assist the Security Controller in managing incoming Security Aspects Letters
- Apply and enforce Need-to-Know controls where required
Responsibilities will expand upon achievement of the appropriate level of security clearance.
Required skills:
- Current experience in an Industrial Security role (EG: Defence/Government/Intelligence Services/List X Company in Defence Industry)
- Strong working knowledge of GovS-007 and associated UK Government Security Policies and contractual processes
- Demonstrable experience handling security compliance tasks including:
- Security Aspects Letters
- F1686 documentation
- Need-to-Know controls
- Experience using Automated Access Control Systems
- Experience managing Visitor Management processes within FSC-compliant facilities
- Strong organisational and record-management skills
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information appropriately
- Effective communication skills with the ability to act as a professional security representative.
