Systems and Datacenter Operator

We are looking for a Systems and Datacenter Operator to join our team for a multinational leader in the insurance sector .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Systems monitoring and management.
  • Observing monitoring consoles and event-driven alerts.
  • Coordinating with vendors for technical support.
  • Calling on expert on-call staff to resolve incidents.
  • Taking first-line corrective action on administrative systems.
  • Running and monitoring traditional batch schedules using tools such as Control-M or Visualcron.
  • Executing weekend release scripts for production deployments.
  • Physical management of bulk printing.
  • Supporting datacentre operations (e.g. power-down weekends, system availability testing, patrols).
  • Maintaining security procedures and access logs.
  • Updating operations procedures and generating reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Analysing and resolving production problems and incidents.

Skills:

Essential:

  • Proven background in IT operations.
  • Ability to work independently and within small teams.
  • Self-motivated and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Focus on service quality and operational excellence.
  • Experience with job scheduling tools (Control-M, Visualcron).
  • Good understanding of Linux/UNIX commands and basic Oracle database knowledge.
  • Understanding of ITIL fundamentals.
  • Strong English level (B2 or above).

Desirable:

  • Experience in batch processing and job scheduling.
  • Knowledge of JCL and Korn shell scripting.
  • Experience with Microfocus environments.
