We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and proactive Patient Participation, Community Engagement & Health Education Lead who can become the link between the practice and our patients. Reporting directly to the Practice Manager and GP Partners, you will lead the development of an active and representative Patient Participation Group (PPG), creating both face-to-face and virtual communities that help patients understand how services are evolving, encourage constructive feedback and strengthen relationships between the practice and the local community. This is not a traditional PPG administration role. We are looking for someone who can inspire people, organise events, educate patients, improve communication and help patients feel involved. Your role will be to support the practice's strategic direction by ensuring patient voices help shape how services are delivered, while maintaining the practice's commitment to safe, e sustainable healthcare

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
Lead and grow an active, diverse Patient Participation Group through virtual and face-to-face engagement. Recruit representative members, facilitate meetings and workshops, and encourage constructive feedback to improve services.
Build strong relationships with community organisations charities, voluntary groups develop a network of Patient Champions and volunteers, promote local support services, and represent the practice at community events
Plan and coordinate patient education programmes covering long-term conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular health, women's health, mental wellbeing, healthy lifestyles, cancer awareness, vaccinations, self-care and navigating NHS services. Work with clinicians and partner organisations to deliver health education
Support patients to use digital healthcare services, including the NHS App, online consultations, AI Reception, appointment booking and prescription services
Gather patient feedback through surveys, focus groups and engagement activities, analyse trends, present findings to practice leadership, support communication of service improvements, and help patients understand changes to care. Collaborate with the leadership team to improve patient experience and support strategic objectives
Promote preventative healthcare by encouraging uptake of NHS Health Checks, vaccinations, screening programmes, long-term condition reviews and health promotion campaigns.
About us
We are a friendly, supportive training practice in North London with 17,300 patients . We currently have 9 salaried GPs, 4 GP Partners and a Management Partner. We also have nurses, HCAs and a pharmacist in our clinical team.
We are located in a Primary Care Health Centre
Our practice is part of a Primary Care Network and actively involved in a range of schemes and services to provide high quality care to the local population.
The purpose of this role is to build a strong partnership between the practice and its patients creating an informed, engaged and supportive patient community that understands the practice's vision, contributes constructive ideas and helps us deliver modern, high-quality healthcare for everyone.

Reporting to the Practice Manager and GP Partners, you will lead the development of an active and representative Patient Participation Group (PPG), creating both face-to-face and virtual opportunities for patients to engage with the practice. You will encourage meaningful patient involvement, gather valuable feedback and help patients understand how services are evolving.
This is a varied and rewarding role that goes beyond traditional PPG administration. You will build relationships with patients, community organisations and partner agencies, organise engagement and health education events, support patients to access digital healthcare services, and promote preventative health and wellbeing initiatives.
Working closely with the practice leadership team, you will ensure the patient voice is embedded in service development, helping to improve communication, enhance the patient experience and support the practice's commitment to delivering safe, effective, accessible and sustainable healthcare.

Qualifications
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Math
Knowledge and skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good IT skills essential
