Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship
Loop Technology are industrial automation experts, with our HQ set in the heart of beautiful Dorset. Specialising in robotics, and the aerospace sector, we have many years of experience delivering state-of-the-art solutions to household name companies.
We are looking for a Level 3 Engineering Fitter apprentice to join us on our exciting journey.
Role
You will be supporting us with the following areas:
- Assembly of industrial robotics systems.
- Testing of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Machining of components and prototype parts - Milling and Turning using both Manual and CNC machines.
- Fabrication - welding, cutting, grinding and use of various power tools.
- Adjustment of non-conforming parts and addition of features to parts for the purpose of assembly – this includes tapping, drilling, grinding etc.
- Reviewing and working from technical drawings and 3D models of systems.
- Electrical assembly of cabinets, panels and robotic tooling.
Training
- In partnership with Bournemouth and Poole college, you will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. You will attend the college one day a week during term time.
- The remainder of your apprenticeship you will spend with us at the Loop Technology Centre in Poundbury.
- Whilst you are here you will be involved in a variety of engineering build tasks, really learning your craft from the ground up.
You will gain an insight into a number of different engineering types including build engineering, design engineering, software engineering and commissioning. We are open to developing talent, so if you show great aptitude, interest and skills in a certain area- we will happily develop you.
