Application & Platform Upgrade Engineer - SC Cleared

Application & Platform Upgrade Engineer

SC Cleared - 6 month contract - Hybrid - London 50%

Our Financial Services client is seeking three Application & Platform Upgrade Engineers to join their Financial Systems and Solutions division. These roles will focus on upgrading enterprise applications across the estate and helping design future upgrade paths and strategies.

The successful candidates will bring hands-on experience upgrading applications across a range of technologies in Windows and Linux environments, ideally gained in other large-scale organisations. Strong automation skills are essential, as the team is building tooling to streamline and standardise application and infrastructure upgrades going forward.

These roles work closely with both application and infrastructure teams across the Bank, so clear, confident communication is important - you'll need to translate technical detail for different audiences and keep stakeholders informed throughout delivery.

You'll be expected to work within the organisation's policies, standards and risk management framework, managing your own workload and priorities while contributing to wider team and business objectives - including ensuring all work complies with the Bank's IT security and risk appetite requirements.

  • Strong experience administering enterprise applications on both Windows and Linux
  • Experience delivering application and platform upgrades in production environments
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar tools
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
  • Experience with application servers, middleware and databases
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
