Business Analyst
Business Analyst - Up to £450 per day Outside IR35 - 12 Months - Edinburgh (Hybrid)
One of Lorien's key public sector clients is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their team on an initial 12-month contract (Possible 12 month extension)
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitating workshops with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements
- Mapping AS-IS and TO-BE processes across complex systems and operational areas
- Producing clear user stories, epics and acceptance criteria for Agile delivery teams
- Working closely with Product Owners and technical teams to prioritise and refine backlogs
- Supporting end-to-end delivery from discovery through to implementation and UAT
- Engaging with cross-functional stakeholders to align business needs and technical solutions
- Conducting impact assessments and identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Supporting delivery within fast-paced Agile environments with multiple workstreams
- Ensuring requirements traceability and maintaining high-quality documentation standards
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience working as a Business Analyst within Agile environments
- Proven track record delivering digital transformation or system change projects
- Experience mapping business processes (AS-IS / TO-BE)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
- Experience writing user stories, epics and managing product backlogs
- Experience working across full SDLC (discovery to delivery)
- Ability to operate independently and quickly get up to speed in complex environments
- Experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams
- Previous public sector or regulated industry experience is beneficial
