Cloud Engineer
Senior Cloud Engineer (Security)- Outside IR35 - 6 Month contract
One of Loriens leading Public Sector clients are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong Office 365 and Azure experience who has previously worked in an environment where the level of Office 365 experience is varied.The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate previous experience in working in newly formed Office 365 and Azure environments as well as the ability to support, coach and mentor colleagues on their Office 365 and Azure journey.Key Responsibilities
- Interpret security best practice and accreditation requirements to determine technical steps required to carry out remediation
- Proactively highlight potential security improvements
- Triage and prioritise to determine where greatest reduction of risk for invested time will be achieved.
- Draft Change Requests Notes including detailed steps required, supporting same at Change Authority Board.
- Carry out changes, testing , monitoring as required during remediation work.
- Carry out troubleshooting and problem resolution in conjunction with other engineers, architects, administrators developers, and business colleagues
- Provide excellent service in response to all business requirements
- Documenting systems and transfer knowledge to BAU Infrastructure and SecOps functions.
- Provide recommendations for SecOps processes and automation
Technical scope
- Security products (email filtering, AV, firewalls, WAFs, MS Defender)
- Enterprise Systems (email, PKI, AD, GP, SCCM, Azure, M365)
- Virtualisation platforms and operating systems, including Hyper-V, VMware and Windows Server.
- Azure cloud
Skills Required
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential, including problem solving from first principles
- Significant engineering/administration experience on digital systems on an enterprise scale
- In depth understanding of and experience with enterprise scale networking and system management
- Demonstrable recent record of directly implementing service or security improvements
- Ability to self-start, accept ownership and see through change start to finish
- Ability to share knowledge and experience with colleagues and effectively hand over to BAU
- Demonstrate awareness or contribution towards Cyber Essentials Plus or other cyber security certification projects
Desirable Skills
- Experience with security related incident detection and response
- Experience working with Pen test reports to prioritise and remediate
- Experience with MCSE Certified or equivalent experience
- ITIL certification
Desirable Qualifications
- Microsoft - on-premise and cloud related engineering level certifications
