Core Java Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Java-based microservices
- Build and enhance APIs supporting cards, payments and digital banking journeys
- Develop cloud-native applications within AWS
- Work across integrations with TSYS, core banking systems and third-party payment providers
- Support delivery of major mobile application releases
- Contribute to engineering best practices, CI/CD and automation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve customer experience and platform performance
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with Java
- Proven experience building microservices architectures
- Strong API development and integration experience
- Experience working within AWS cloud environments
- Background in financial services, retail banking, payments or cards
- Experience delivering customer-facing digital products
- Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, testing and DevOps
Desirable Experience
- Payments, cards or acquiring platforms
- Click to Pay implementations
- Apple Pay integrations
- TSYS exposure
- Core banking platform integration experience
- Mobile banking or digital channel delivery experience
