Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst

Location: Reading - Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite
Contract: 6 months initially
Rate: Competitive/dependent on experience

Clearance: SC Clearance desirable, but not essential

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst to join a leading organisation on an initial 6-month contract.

This is a hands-on, tactical Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) role focused on monitoring and analysing cyber threat intelligence, identifying emerging threats and producing actionable intelligence to support cyber defence and risk management activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse internal and external cyber threat intelligence feeds.
• Assess emerging threats, threat actors, Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs).
• Produce and issue actionable threat alerts and intelligence reports.
• Prepare intelligence briefings and communicate findings to key stakeholders.
• Support security operations within a live enterprise environment.
• Contribute to proactive threat hunting activities.
• Use the MITRE ATT&CK framework to analyse and map adversary behaviours.
• Apply threat modelling methodologies to identify and assess cyber threats.
• Support the wider cyber security function with threat intelligence analysis and recommendations.
• Develop an understanding of threats affecting Operational Technology (OT) environments.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) at a tactical or operational level.
• Experience monitoring and analysing threat intelligence feeds.
• Proven experience producing threat alerts, intelligence reports and stakeholder briefings.
• Strong understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Good knowledge of threat modelling methodologies.
• Strong understanding of cyber threat actors, TTPs and IOCs.
• Experience working within a live enterprise security environment.
• Understanding of OT security.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical intelligence into actionable information.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within the energy or utilities sector.
• Financial services or banking experience.
• Experience working within another highly regulated environment.
• Exposure to UK Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) security.
• Awareness or practical experience of NIS Regulations.
• Knowledge of the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).
• Experience mapping threat intelligence findings and recommendations against CAF objectives.
• Existing SC Clearance or eligibility/willingness to obtain clearance in the future.

Important

We are particularly interested in candidates with hands-on operational CTI experience who have been Embedded within an organisation and have direct responsibility for monitoring, analysing and reporting on cyber threats.

Candidates whose experience is primarily focused on cyber consultancy or advising clients, without significant day-to-day operational CTI responsibilities, are less likely to be suitable.
