Infrastructure SQL Engineer - SC Cleared London/Hybrid 6 month contract Inside IR35
We're looking for an experienced SQL Engineer - SC Cleared to support database administration, platform upgrades, and transformation projects across a complex enterprise environment. You'll play a key role in delivering reliable, secure, and high-performing SQL services while supporting infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Building MSSQL Databases and SSRS, SSIS, SSAS using Standard SQL builds for the Application Transformation Project
- Migrating MSSQL Databases and SSRS, SSIS, SSAS from older versions to MSSQL 2025.
- Building and Migrating Windows Servers supporting server upgrades and decommission physical and virtual Servers.
- Coordinating with other Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure the MSSQL Database build process is completed successfully
- Performing Quality Assurance check on new MSSQL Databases in line with QA standards
- Performing Backups and Restores of MSSQL Databases
- Remediating any issues that are found post build or post transformation
- Performing decommissioning of redundant MSSQL Databases
- Any other Database related tasks
- Support Application Migrations to new infrastructure and Data Centres
- Builds and migrations to be performed on VMware virtualization platform VMs and Bare-Metal Servers.
What We're Looking For
- Strong SQL Server administration experience (SQL 2016 onwardsfsaster Recovery technologies.
- Experience with Windows Clustering, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
- Knowledge of VMware virtualised environments.
- PowerShell Scripting skills.
- Experience delivering SQL upgrades, migrations, and transformation projects.
- Familiarity with Change and Incident Management processes.
Desirable
- Active Directory, Commvault, and SCOM.
- Power BI experience.
- Jira and Confluence.
- Data centre and cloud migration experience.
- Experience using BMC Remedy/Helix.
