Perl Developer

• Location: Stevenage - Onsite 1 day a month
• Duration: 3-6 months

• £84 per hour

We are seeking a talented PERL Software Developer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about software development and eager to work on projects that involve creating and updating text-based templates for Technical Publications authoring and publishing tasks. While knowledge of the Technical Publications publishing process is an advantage, it is not essential.

You will also assist in developing applications and reporting tools using C#, SQL, Java, and PowerShell, working across multiple coding domains.

• Develop and maintain technical publication stylesheets using PERL.
• Design and implement database solutions for storing and retrieving company information.
• Install and configure information systems to ensure optimal functionality.
• Analyse, plan, and define data architecture frameworks, including security and metadata.
• Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions.
• Conduct tests, troubleshoot issues, and integrate new elements to improve system performance.
• Optimize new and existing database systems.
• Define security and backup procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise data strategies and build models.
• Provide operational support for Management Information Systems.

• Proficiency in PERL (essential).
• Strong knowledge of SQL and C#.
• Experience with data visualization (highly desirable).
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience in data modelling, metadata management, and data synthesis.
• Ability to gather and analyse system requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
