Lorien's leading banking client is looking for a Principal Engineer to become part of the expanding team on an ongoing resilience project.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team, we are looking for a candidate who has worked at a Senior Level who has the ability to Mentor and Train Engineers whilst still being technically minded and hands on when needed.

This role is based in London

This role will be via Umbrella

Working in a Hybrid Model of 2 days a week on site.

What you will do

As a Principal Engineer you will be driving development software and tools to accomplish project and departmental objectives by converting functional and non-functional requirements into suitable designs.

The role will be 25% hands on, overseeing the build and deployment of resilience system software within payments from a squad of engineers who will be building resilience software within payments environments, and will develop your leadership skills as you manage, mentor, and train the technical delivery of one or more software engineering teams.

Key Skills and Experience

• Experience of leading software development teams, introducing and executing technical strategies.
• Experienced in leading teams of engineers/developers.
• Experience of Mentoring and Training Engineers.
• Experienced with Build Design and Architecture.
• Strong experience of writing in Java, Kafka and building Resilience Software.
• Experienced of working within Financial Services, with experience in:
  • Fintech
  • Payments
  • Circuit Breaking
  • Error Handling
• Experience working in an Agile Environment.
