About the Role
As the Security Project Manager, you will play a crucial part in the successful delivery of the company's Security Improvement Programme. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of various security-focused projects within the SIP.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all allocated projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard. This will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and HR, to ensure seamless project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Identify and manage risks and issues related to the projects, implementing effective mitigation strategies
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure technical quality and adherence to security standards and governance practices
- Report on project progress and status to key stakeholders, including the SIP Director
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and risk reduction
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in project management within IT security.
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) experience.
- Project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience in risk management, change management, and project budgeting.
- Knowledge of security technologies and solutions.
- Experience working in a large, complex organisations.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Desired Qualifications & Certifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration.
- Security-related certification such as CISSP, CISM or CRISC.
- Certification in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Six Sigma.
- Experience with security frameworks such as NIST or ISO27001.
- Experience with cloud security solutions and technologies.
Additional beneficial skills:
- Experience with data protection regulations such as GDPR.
- Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools.
- Experience with vendor management and procurement.
- Experience with physical security solutions and technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with change management and organisational development.
