Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Dynatrace Experience

You will join one of the UK's leading financial services companies, who have built their success by putting people at the heart of their organisation by identifying and delivering products and services that are right for their customers. Due to a recent merger, my client is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Infrastructure Monitoring to join their technology team. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing strategic expertise to ensure effective management of technical and business services within their specialist area. This position sits within the Infrastructure Monitoring and Technical Observability team.

The team are looking for an expert in Dynatrace to ensure the reliability, performance, and stability of core platforms. This role goes beyond simple monitoring to true observability, helping prevent incidents before they impact customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead administration, configuration, and maintenance of the Dynatrace platform (SaaS or Managed) across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Manage rollout of OneAgents and ActiveGates across complex environments, including Kubernetes clusters, legacy systems, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Create custom dashboards for technical and business stakeholders.
  • Act as SME during critical incidents (P1/P2), using Dynatrace's PurePath technology for root cause analysis.
  • Integrate Dynatrace with ITSM and CI/CD ecosystems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Jenkins, Ansible) to automate workflows.
  • Design synthetic transaction tests to simulate customer journeys and proactively detect issues.
  • Train application teams on interpreting APM data to improve code quality and performance.

Essential Skills

  • Dynatrace Mastery: Hands-on experience with Management Zones, Request Attributes, Tagging Rules, and Alert Profiles.
  • Architecture Knowledge: Deep understanding of multi-tier architectures and microservices.
  • Containerization: Experience monitoring Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker environments.
  • Cloud Expertise: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Protocols: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and SQL.
  • Experience in business-critical and regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PII masking).
  • Ability to work in high-volume transaction environments.
