Lorien's leading Pensions and Investments Client is looking for a Solution Architect to join them, this person would be Accountable for the architectural strategy and blueprint as Asset Management navigates a period of significant transformation activity.
This role is based in London, Telford, or Edinburgh.
This role will be Via Umbrella.
Working in a Hybrid Model of 2 days a week on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture Design: Develop and maintain the architectural framework for Front Office systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. Work with other Group and AM architects as required to turn business problems into technical architectural design, drawing links between problems to reach common solutions.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to integrate new technologies and platforms that enhance trading, portfolio management, and client reporting. Support delivery teams to interpret the business needs, ensuring this transposes into secure, robust and scalable solutions
- Innovation: Show an awareness and understanding of opportunities for innovation with new tools and technologies to improve business and colleague outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with teams to understand their needs and translate them into technical specifications and solutions. Act as a vocal advocate to communicate the architecture strategy and blueprint within AM and the wider Group, as required.
- Communication: Communicate with a variety of stakeholders in both technical and non-technical ways. Support and host discussions within a multidisciplinary team, with potentially difficult dynamics, to drive forward architectural topics.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all architectural solutions comply with industry regulations and internal risk management policies. Provide input and enforcement of applicable policies and standards, highlighting deficiencies and recommendations to ensure compliance where required.
What We're Looking For:
Essential
- Highly proficient in Architectural Design Principles
- 5+ years of experience in a technology role within Asset Management or Financial Services
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills
- Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work across multiple subject areas, or a single large or complicated subject area
- Experience in modern ways of working (examples include Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, Test Automation)
- Assertiveness in dealing with people at all levels within and outside of the delivery organisation, including partner and client organisations
- Issue management, prioritisation and ability to provide pragmatic direction which is consistent with capital markets longer-term strategy
- Able to demonstrate resilience, flexibility and adapt to changing schedules and priorities
Desirable
- Membership of a professional body
- Solid knowledge of the Bulk Annuity business
- Understanding of Front Office functions, including Trading and Portfolio Management
- Knowledge of Fixed Income and Equity valuation and risk
- Experience of Blackrock Solutions Aladdin Enterprise Platform
- Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or relevant subject
