First Line Support Engineer
First Line Support Engineer - Northampton - 2/3-month contract
We are seeking a proactive and organised First Line Support Engineer to join our customers growing IT team on an initial 2 - 3-month contract . This role combines traditional first-line technical support with IT administrative responsibilities, including order processing, asset management, and general service desk coordinationThe successful candidate will be the first point of contact for IT-related queries while also supporting the smooth day-to-day running of IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for IT support queries via phone, email, and ticketing system
- Log, categorise, and prioritise support tickets in line with SLAs
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and basic network issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Escalate unresolved issues to second- or third-line support where required
- Raise and track purchase orders for IT equipment, software, and services
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors regarding orders and deliveries
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets and licences
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes (user account creation, hardware allocation, system access)
- Support documentation of IT procedures and processes
- Ensure IT stock levels are monitored and replenished as required
