Job title: IT Support Engineer - Enhanced DBS
Location: West Sussex
Day rate: £170pd inside IR35
Environment: Education/School
Duration: 4 weeks (onsite 3 days a week - flexible on days)
Clearance: Current Enhanced DBS required
We are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support within a school environment in West Sussex.
You'll provide day-to-day IT support to staff and users across the site, including floorwalking, resolving general hardware/software issues, user administration and the installation and configuration of IT equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on 1st/2nd Line IT Support across the school
- Floorwalking and providing face-to-face technical assistance to users
- Troubleshoot and resolve general hardware, software and Windows issues
- Support general user and account administration
- Active Directory administration, including user accounts, passwords and permissions
- Support users across Microsoft Office 365
- Install, configure and deploy laptops, desktops, monitors and other end-user hardware
- Diagnose and resolve peripheral and connectivity issues
- Provide clear and approachable technical support to users with varying levels of IT knowledge
- Escalate more complex technical issues where required
- Assist with general IT maintenance and support activities across the site
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within an IT Support/Service Desk/Desktop Support environment
- Strong Windows 10/11 support experience
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Office 365/Microsoft 365
- Hardware installation, configuration and troubleshooting
- Desktop/laptop deployment and support
- User administration and access management
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Confident providing face-to-face/floorwalking support
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Highly Desirable:
- Previous experience supporting IT within a school, college or education environment
- Audio Visual (AV) support experience
- Microsoft Teams/Teams Rooms
- Interactive displays, projectors and classroom AV equipment
- Video conferencing and meeting-room technology
Essential Requirement:
- Candidates must hold a current Enhanced DBS. Unfortunately, applications from candidates without the required Enhanced DBS cannot be considered.
