Senior IT Support Engineer

Salary up to £42,000 per annum DOE
Lucid Connect have partnered with a leading Managed Services provider in search for an experienced Support Engineer covering 2nd to 3rd line duties for their client, a prestigious automotive brand.
Purpose of the role
- Provide high-quality operational IT support across critical business services and technology environments.
- Act as a technical point of reference within a small, collaborative support team, delivering excellent service to key business stakeholders.
- Deliver remote and on-site support for business-critical systems, including participation in out-of-hours support where required.
- Balance multiple priorities effectively while managing customer expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Apply broad technical knowledge and strong customer service skills to resolve operational issues and support project delivery against agreed service levels and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical support throughout all stages of the IT service life cycle, following ITIL best practice.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to colleagues within the IT support team.
- Ensure all work complies with internal processes, security standards, governance requirements and industry best practice.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and third-party suppliers.
- Take ownership of incidents, service requests and escalations through to successful resolution.
- Identify opportunities to improve IT services, support processes, system reliability, security and performance.
- Support the delivery of IT projects, system deployments and infrastructure improvements.
- Champion continuous improvement and contribute to the ongoing development of IT services.
- Participate in an on-call or out-of-hours support rota where required.
Experience Required
- Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Mobile device support (iOS and Android).
- Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure administration.
- Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
- Multi-vendor hardware deployment, support and break/fix.
- Change Management processes.
- Experience with Jira ITSM or a similar IT Service Management platform.
- Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, WAN and VLAN technologies.
- Understanding of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, storage platforms, monitoring, backup and recovery.
- 2-3 years' experience in a senior IT support, infrastructure support or technical support role.
Qualifications
- ITIL Foundation (v3 or v4) or equivalent.
- CCNA certification or equivalent networking experience.
- Degree in IT or equivalent commercial experience.
Desirable
- Microsoft certifications.
- Cisco networking certifications.
- Experience supporting business-critical or high-availability environments.
- Experience within fast-paced operational environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, cloud services and modern workplace technologies.
