Infrastructure Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join our customers cloud and infrastructure team. This is a hands-on, Azure-focused role responsible for designing, securing, and automating Azure infrastructure in close collaboration with networking and security teams. The role will be based on site in Derby and will be an initial 6 month contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), including peering and routing
- Configure and maintain Azure Front Door
- Implement network segmentation concepts (eg VLAN-style segmentation)
- Manage endpoint network connectivity, including private endpoints and service endpoints
- Configure and manage Azure Firewall and related network security controls
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including:
- Users, groups, and service principals
- Tenant management and governance
- Manage Entra Domain Services
- Apply a strong understanding of tenants vs subscriptions
- Implement and maintain RBAC (Role-Based Access Control)
- Design and enforce Conditional Access policies
- Configure and support Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Implement and manage Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Apply identity and network security best practices across Azure environments
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines, repositories, and CI/CD workflows
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Use Azure-native tooling (eg Azure Package Manager/Artifacts)
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployments
