Security & Reporting Officer - 6 month contract
The Security & Reporting Officer plays a pivotal role in managing the reporting life cycle within the security function, providing clear, actionable insights to leadership, and enabling data-driven decision-making. The role requires a blend of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and communication expertise to manage reporting operations, define key metrics, and translate complex security data into compelling business narratives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the security reporting calendar, ensuring timely submissions and updates.
- Define reporting cadence aligned with business and governance requirements.
- Coordinate and communicate reporting requirements and timelines to internal stakeholders.
- Define, establish, and maintain key security metrics and reporting standards.
- Prioritize reporting focus areas in alignment with strategic and operational security priorities.
- Continuously refine metrics and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to reflect evolving risk landscape.
- Produce high-quality technical reports and dashboards summarizing risk, control, and performance data.
- Translate technical content into business language for senior stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
- Develop and maintain reporting templates and content standards.
- Prepare inputs for Security Board and executive-level presentations, highlighting top-priority issues, KRIs, and key narratives.
- Support leadership in communicating the state of security to governance forums and regulators.
- Understand the data life cycle from source to reporting, including host systems, owners, and submission timelines.
- Ensure consistency, traceability, and accuracy of security data across reporting cycles
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in cybersecurity, risk, governance, or security operations.
- Experience managing reporting cycles and dashboards within a security, audit, or compliance function.
- Demonstrable ability to translate technical information into clear business narratives.
- Familiarity with KRIs, KPIs, and metrics within a security or risk context.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Data analysis capabilities and experience working with reporting or BI tools (eg, Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
