Duration: 3 months rolling
Location: Remote - site visits 2/3 times a month

Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join a technical delivery team working on the design, development and delivery of modern, scalable applications and services.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Java and Spring Boot development, with hands-on experience building APIs and microservices within cloud-based environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop scalable, reliable and maintainable cloud-based solutions.
- Work with AWS services, including EC2, Lambda and CloudWatch.
- Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles throughout the development life cycle.
- Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, testers and wider delivery teams.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and integration issues.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong commercial experience with Java.
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and developing APIs, microservices and RESTful services.
- Good knowledge of AWS, particularly: EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch and General awareness of cloud networking concepts.
- Strong understanding and practical application of TDD.
Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including technologies such as:
- PostgreSQL
- MongoDB
- Good understanding of modern software engineering principles and development best practices.
Desirable Skills:
- Node.js and JavaScript.
- Azure experience - strong Azure candidates may also be considered where AWS experience is limited.
- Experience with Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).
- Experience with Playwright or similar automated testing frameworks.
