Systems Administrator
System Administrator - part time contract (6 months,1 day per week) - Guildford
We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our most prestigious clients, they are looking to hire a System Administrator to work on a part time basis in Guildford. The successful candidate will be required to work 1 day per week on site in Guildford for an initial 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure appropriate software and hardware according to specifications.
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems.
- Analyse, resolve issues and implement new solutions to ensure end users' satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Global IT to deliver global projects in the region, and request new services and solutions as needed.
- Facilitate operations of the IT environment including problem management, incident management, configuration and change management.
- Contribute to global IT initiatives with professional knowledge and local insights.
- Ensure proper operation of IT systems, including Servers and network hardware, user workstations and laptop computers, printers, scanners etc.
- Participate in on-call activities, incident response and off-hours routine maintenance
- Support the procurement process of IT hardware and software to have the best performance within the budget, aligning with relevant HQ and regional teams.
- Pro-actively monitor the status of IT infrastructure, determine any issues or potential problems and recommend solutions.

- Networking TCP/IP, routing and switching, Wi-Fi)
- Server technology and hardware (SAN/NAS, Blades, OOB, PXE)
- Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Computer Hardware (desktops, laptops, troubleshooting)
