AI/ ML Engineer

AI/ML Engineer (PhD graduate) As an AI/ML Engineer, you'll work on a diverse range of advanced research programmes where no two projects are the same. You'll investigate emerging machine learning techniques, develop novel algorithms and build proof-of-concept systems that address complex technical challenges.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Researching and evaluating state-of-the-art AI and machine learning techniques.
  • Designing, implementing and training machine learning models for novel applications.
  • Developing proof-of-concept systems and rapid prototypes.
  • Designing experiments, analysing results and translating findings into practical engineering solutions.
  • Applying scientific thinking to solve complex multidisciplinary problems.
  • Collaborating with software engineers, mathematicians, physicists and systems engineers.
  • Presenting technical findings to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Contributing to research strategy and identifying future technical opportunities.
This role offers significant technical variety, allowing you to work across multiple research programmes rather than focusing on a single long-term project.About You
  • A PhD (or be close to completing one) in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or another highly quantitative discipline.
  • Research experience involving machine learning, deep learning, optimisation or statistical modelling.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX or Keras.
  • Experience designing experiments, evaluating model performance and interpreting results.
  • A curious mindset and a passion for exploring emerging technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating within highly technical multidisciplinary teams.
