Payments Solutions Architect

Lynx Recruitment are looking for an experienced Solution/Enterprise Architect to join a major payments transformation programme. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping the target architecture, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and securing approval through the relevant design authority.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and define the target architecture and solution design for system changes identified during discovery.
• Review and validate the proposed approach for evolving the Payment Services Domain to meet programme objectives.
• Assess current state architecture and define transition states, covering the full end-to-end omnichannel experience—including Payment Gateway, Acquirer, Tokenisation, and Fraud Management.
• Propose strategies for managing payment tokens during transition, including the adoption of network tokens in line with evolving industry standards.
• Provide architectural input to the supplier selection process (RFP stage), advising on technology and integration considerations.
• Ensure alignment with architectural principles through engagement with the design authority and technical leadership.
• Identify and process key design decisions via the appropriate governance channels.
• Promote iterative development and agreement to drive progress toward strategic goals.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven track record as a Solution or Enterprise Architect within large-scale transformation programmes.
• Strong knowledge of payment systems, gateways, tokenisation, fraud management, and acquirer integration.
• Experience working within structured architecture governance frameworks.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and secure agreement from technical leadership.
• Familiarity with supplier selection processes and integration patterns.
