Senior Software Validation and Verification Engineer
Senior Software Validation & Verification Engineer Department: Engineering Reports to: Electronics & Software Team Leader Role Purpose Responsible for creating and running a robust software/firmware validation and verification (V&V) environment for new products. This includes testing, process improvement, and supporting best practice across the engineering team.Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and test new or modified software/firmware.
- Create and maintain effective software/firmware test processes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, reviews, retrospectives).
- Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, and systems engineering teams.
- Support internal and external customers with troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate records and follow quality procedures (ISO 9001:2015).
- Provide information for internal audits as needed.
- Perform additional engineering tasks as required.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent (preferred).
- Professional registration encouraged.
- Leading and delivering software/firmware validation projects.
- Strong software design and testing experience.
- Experience with C, C++, C#, .NET, and LabVIEW.
- Background in testing safety-critical software.
- Full software lifecycle experience (design, development, testing, documentation, version control).
- Experience with electro-mechanical products.
- Understanding of electronics (schematic-level) is advantageous.
- Must hold a valid driving licence and passport (some travel required).
- Strong self-management and ownership of projects.
- Ability to capture and create software/firmware test requirements.
- Practical problem solver with high attention to detail.
