Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer – St Neots (PE19) – Perm – Full-Time on site
About the Role:
Join our Digital Services Group (DSG) in collaboration with the Electronic Warfare Operations Support Group (EWOS), a diverse team of over 60 professionals. We're building a pioneering team at a cutting-edge test and evaluation facility at our Cambridgeshire HQ.
We're seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer with at least 5 years of experience to lead the full engineering lifecycle of secure networks — from requirements gathering and system design through to implementation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing support.
You will work with unprecedented customer access, cutting-edge technologies, and industry-best practices to shape the IT infrastructure of a revolutionary synthetic test and evaluation system.
Key Responsibilities:

Translate business needs from non-technical stakeholders into technical specifications.

Design, implement, and support secure network infrastructures.

Provide 3rd-line support and act as a technical mentor to junior engineers.

Manage the configuration and deployment of Windows Server environments (2022/2025).

Oversee multi-vendor systems (FortiGate, Cisco, Dell) and virtualization platforms.

Ensure projects meet requirements and follow change management protocols.
Essential Skills & Experience

Windows Server (2022/2025): AD, Group Policy, WSUS, DHCP, NPS, LDAPS, LAPS, AppLocker, PKI, Smart Cards, File Servers, KMS, WDS/MDT.

OS Support: Windows 10/11

Network Hardware: FortiGate Firewalls, Cisco Switches

Virtualization: Hyper-V, VMware vSphere

Hardware: Dell SANs (iSCSI, RAID), Dell Servers

Software: Nessus, Ad Audit Plus, SIEM, Wireshark, SQL Server, Jira Service Desk

Other: Linux experience, excellent independent troubleshooting skills, solution design and delivery

Experience or interest in learning the following is advantageous:
