Risk & Governance Manager
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading risk management activity across the organisation, providing expert advice, guidance and challenge at all levels
- Reporting escalated risks to Executive Leadership and Non-Executive Directors (via ARAC)
- Maintaining and improving risk policies and processes, ensuring alignment to MOD standards
- Embedding a risk-aware culture through engagement, communication, training and mentoring of divisional risk focal points
- Driving governance development and compliance, attending and supporting key governance boards and committees
- Conducting assurance reviews and maintaining a compliance register
- Line managing a Risk Officer and holding budget responsibility
What We're Looking For
- IRM Enterprise Risk Management qualification — strong advantage
- Knowledge of MOD risk policy and process (JSP892) — strong advantage
- Proven experience managing risk in a complex organisation
- Confidence engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders, including at board and executive level
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Civil Service behaviours at SEO/Grade 7 equivalent (Level 3): Seeing the Big Picture, Making Effective Decisions, Communicating & Influencing
- Good working knowledge of MS Office suite including Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel
