Software Modelling Degree Apprenticeship
Role
System modelling is an indispensable tool used to ensure MBDA provides robust, reliable and cost efficient weapon systems to our customers.
Through the programme you will learn how to create simulation software in programming languages/environments such as:
- MathWorks MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow
- FORTRAN
- C/C++
- How to create software in a team using team collaboration tools
Training
By the end of this 4 year programme, you'll have achieved a BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions at Cranfield MK:U. The programme contains one virtual study day per week with the University and the remainder of the working week is spent in rotational placements around the Simulation & Modelling departments.
As a model developer you will often encounter new and exciting challenges.
You will work closely with other departments and companies to integrate subsystem models and design data. From these interactions you'll gain a broad understanding of each subsystem that makes up the weapon, and how the system architecture integrates the subsystems to provide an overall capability.
Through regular one to ones, development plans and the use of Mentors, you will have the opportunity to shape your career within the organisation. We have many senior members in the organisation that started life as an MBDA apprentice.
As you progress towards your final year on the scheme we’ll help you to understand your skills and career ambitions so we can help you to see the technical career paths that are available to you.
