Business Administrator Apprenticeship - Project Management role

The project management department as an operating division is part of the sales and projects functions of the business and is responsible for managing new business until fully integrated into the business. The purpose of this role is to gain awareness and knowledge on all project related functions in Metal Assemblies.

Role

Main job duties:

  • Gaining a fundamental understanding of our MRP system, which will allow access to significant information required by the projects team
  • Obtaining working knowledge of digital systems, including Decade, Kapture, Maintain X and Power BI Dashboard
  • Learning how to develop quotations after receiving a request for quotation
  • Gain knowledge on all activities within the shop floor, and a fundamental understanding of manufacturing
  • Be able to understand how our products are costed, and the effect any changes can have on the Gross Margin of a part
  • Gaining better understanding of all our main customers, the relationships and all key project requirements
  • Gaining understanding of project management systems and how to use tools such as APQP, PFMEA and how they are developed
  • To be able to understand customer drawings
  • To get involved with ECR's (Engineering Change Requests) and learn how they are managed
  • working within different areas of the business, obtaining knowledge of functions in those areas and how the organisational structure works
     

Training

This is an 18 - month Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship. You will be required to attend Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills, University of Wolverhampton, Springfield Campus, Grimstone Street, Wolverhampton, WV10 0JP, 2 days per week over a 5 - week period as part of the apprenticeship delivery.

You will also have monthly assessor visits to see you at the company.

Potential to have a full time position within the Project team with a chance to grow within the company.
