ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for Delivery Lead Consultants to join our growing Delivery Business Unit. This job specification covers one Delivery Lead position at Consultant level, with the final appointment level dependent on experience, client fit and the complexity of the engagement.

You will work with clients across the public and private sectors to plan, manage and deliver projects that turn strategic objectives into practical outcomes. Depending on level, this may include running defined projects or workstreams, or leading the end-to-end delivery of complex projects across the full project lifecycle.

No two engagements will be the same. You may be working in ambiguous environments, shaping delivery plans from high-level requirements, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing suppliers, tracking RAID, supporting stage gate reviews, reporting to senior stakeholders and ensuring delivery remains focused on value, pace and successful implementation.

Alongside client-facing delivery, you will support MMCG internally through business development, bid activity, internal operations, delivery capability development and other priority areas that help the business grow, operate effectively and strengthen its delivery offering.

Key Responsibilities

▪ Run defined projects or workstreams with appropriate support, taking ownership of delivery plans, actions, risks, dependencies and project artefacts.

▪ Coordinate project teams, suppliers and client stakeholders to keep activity moving and ensure agreed outcomes are delivered.

▪ Support workshops, project governance, reporting, stage gate preparation and day-to-day delivery management.

▪ Contribute to internal business development, bid responses, delivery assets and operational improvement activity.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

▪ Proven experience in project delivery, delivery management, project management or a closely related consulting role.

▪ Experience running projects, workstreams or delivery activity within complex transformation, digital, technology or operational change environments.

▪ Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage, influence and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.

▪ Experience managing delivery plans, milestones, RAID, dependencies, actions, reporting and governance artefacts.

▪ Ability to bring structure to ambiguous tasks, clarify priorities and move work forward in environments where requirements may be evolving.

▪ Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including business users, technical teams, product teams, suppliers and senior stakeholders.

▪ Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce concise reports, briefings, delivery updates and decision materials.

▪ A collaborative consulting mindset, with the ability to fit into MMCG culture, support colleagues and contribute beyond client-facing delivery.

▪ Experience supporting internal activity such as business development, bids, internal operations, delivery improvement or capability development.

Desirable

The following are not essential, but are key areas of interest for us. We also welcome applications from candidates looking to develop these skills over time.

▪ Professional delivery or project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, Scrum Master, AgilePM, SAFe or equivalent.

▪ Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps or similar tools to manage Agile, Scrum or hybrid delivery.

▪ Background working with public sector clients, government departments, policing, justice, national security or similarly regulated environments.

▪ Knowledge of public sector ways of working, governance, procurement, assurance, service standards or digital delivery approaches.

▪ Experience leading or supporting software development, technical delivery, system implementation or technology-enabled change projects.

▪ Understanding of technical delivery concepts such as software development lifecycles, cloud, data, APIs, integrations, testing, release management or DevOps.

▪ Experience working with AI-enabled transformation, automation, data, analytics or emerging technology projects.

▪ Experience managing suppliers, delivery partners, commercial dependencies, budgets or project finances.

▪ Experience supporting stage gate reviews, assurance activity, governance boards or senior-level reporting.

▪ Existing or previous security clearances, or willingness and eligibility to obtain relevant client clearances where required. 

▪ Existing security clearance or previous experience working in cleared environments.

▪ Scrum, Agile and Jira experience.

▪ Background in public sector delivery and understanding of public sector ways of working.

▪ Experience in policing, justice, national security or other complex operational environments.

▪ Confidence working with technical teams and translating delivery challenges into clear plans, actions and decisions.

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

▪ Positions: Delivery Lead Consultant 

▪ Location: London / Hybrid.

▪ Working pattern: Hybrid, dependent on client contract and project requirements.

▪ Salary: £40,000 to £60,000 dependent on experience.

▪ Clearances: May be required depending on client engagement.
