Lead Unmanned Aircraft system Pilot

MPI have a requirement for a Lead UAS Pilot to join our clients Operations Team to be based in Leicester.

Rate of pay is dependent on experience and will be discussed at the time of application.

Working Pattern: 5 day week, 37 hours a week

We are excited to be looking for an experienced and highly capable Lead UAS Pilot to join our Operations team. As a Lead UAS Pilot, you will be responsible for:

Leading the delivery of all UAS flight operations, ensuring missions are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory and organisational requirements.

Maintaining operational oversight and compliance, driving high standards of safety, risk management and performance across multiple programmes and customers.

Provide leadership and technical direction to UAS personnel, while building strong relationships with customers, regulators and key stakeholders to support successful operational delivery

This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced UAS professional who combines extensive flight operations expertise with strong leadership skills and a passion for advancing the future of uncrewed aviation.

Knowledge:

Good understanding of UK aviation regulations, UAS operations, airspace requirements, and aviation safety principles.

Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS), operational risk management, and compliance within regulated environments.

Understanding of meteorology, flight planning, and operational decision-making.

Awareness of emerging UAS technologies, BVLOS operations, and wider developments within the uncrewed aviation sector.

Qualifications & Desirable Experience:

Relevant UAS pilot qualifications and operational flying experience.

A1/A3 and/or A2 Certificate of Competency.

Manned aviation qualifications, Flight Radiotelephony Operator's Licence, or military aviation experience would be advantageous.

Experience operating MUAS, MALE, or comparable UAS platforms is desirable.

Engineering, technical, or aerospace-related qualifications would be beneficial.

Eligible to obtain and maintain Security Clearance.
