Senior IT Support Engineer: £40k - £45k
Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office
We’re supporting a well-established UK digital business operating at scale across consumer-facing platforms and internal technology services. They’re looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer to act as a technical escalation point within their IT Operations function and help drive service quality, automation and operational maturity.
The role
This is a senior, hands-on support role within a hybrid working environment. You’ll provide advanced technical support, own complex escalations, and mentor a junior technician, while also contributing to process improvement and small-scale project delivery. You’ll be trusted to balance BAU support with forward-thinking improvements, helping modernise tooling, strengthen security posture, and improve the end-user experience.
Key responsibilities
- Act as escalation point for complex IT issues, owning incidents from triage through to resolution
- Provide high-quality support across hybrid and multi-site environments
- Mentor and support junior IT staff through coaching, shadowing and knowledge sharing
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, Defender and Copilot
- Manage device enrolment, configuration and compliance via Intune, with macOS support via Jamf or Iru
- Deliver senior-level troubleshooting across Windows, macOS, iOS and Android
- Support day-to-day Windows Server operations
- Maintain high-quality documentation, SOPs and knowledge articles
- Contribute to small projects, rollouts and operational improvements
- Apply security best practices and support compliance with ISO-aligned frameworks
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in a senior IT support / IT operations role
- Proven Microsoft 365 administration experience (Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Teams, SharePoint)
- Confident device management experience (MDM/MAM), including Windows and macOS
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, Wi-Fi, Meraki)
- Excellent troubleshooting across end-user platforms
