Apprentice / Junior Data Analyst

An exciting opportunity to join a leading supply chain and logistics business as part of their growing Data & Analytics function. This role is ideal for someone at the early stage of their career who is eager to develop practical skills in data analysis within a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position starting as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a clear expectation of progressing into a permanent role upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.

This structured programme combines formal study towards a recognised qualification in Data Analytics with real-world experience in an established IT and data team. You will gain essential technical and analytical skills while receiving hands-on support and mentoring.

Key Learning Areas:

  • Data fundamentals and database management
  • Data analysis and interpretation techniques
  • Reporting and visualisation using tools such as Power BI and SQL
  • Data quality, governance, and accuracy
  • Problem-solving and diagnostics in a data context

You will also develop hands-on proficiency with technical tools including Excel, SQL, and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities within the role:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of reports and dashboards.
  • Acquire and prepare data from various sources.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets.
  • Support data quality activities, including cleansing and validation.
  • Communicate insights clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to service improvement discussions and project updates.
  • Maintain project documentation and support ticket records.

Candidate Profile:

Essential:

  • Interest in data, analytics, and IT.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving approach.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organised, reliable, and willing to learn.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Indefinite right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).

Desirable:

  • 3 A-Levels (or equivalent), ideally including Maths, IT, or Computing.
  • Basic understanding of SQL, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Professional and confident when dealing with colleagues and partners.
