Business Development Executive
Overview
I’m currently working with a well-established and growing B2B communications and technology provider that’s looking to hire a Business Development Executive to support continued growth.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys owning the full sales cycle from identifying and engaging new prospects through to closing deals and building long-term client relationships. You’ll be selling a broad portfolio of technology solutions into the SME and mid-market space.
The Role
As a Business Development Executive, you’ll be responsible for winning new business end to end. This includes outbound prospecting, discovery, solution presentation, negotiation, and deal closure, with the opportunity to retain and develop accounts you bring on.
The role is hybrid, combining home working with time spent in the East Midlands office, offering the right balance of flexibility, structure, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through outbound prospecting (phone, email, LinkedIn, and campaigns)
- Manage the full sales cycle from first contact through to close
- Conduct discovery calls to understand customer challenges and requirements
- Present and propose solutions across Unified Communications, Connectivity, Business Mobiles, IT Services, and Security
- Build and manage your own sales pipeline and forecast accurately
- Follow up on inbound enquiries and marketing-generated leads
- Negotiate commercial terms and close new business
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity
- Build long-term relationships and develop accounts over time
- Work towards individual revenue targets and KPIs
Candidate Profile
This role would suit someone who:
- Has experience in a full-cycle B2B sales role (IT, Telecoms, or Technology preferred)
- Is confident engaging with decision-makers and managing sales conversations
- Enjoys prospecting as well as closing deals
- Is commercially minded and motivated by results
- Has strong communication, listening, and negotiation skills
- Is organised and comfortable managing multiple opportunities
- Wants to build a long-term career in B2B technology sales
