The Job You’ll Do;
- Carry out daily IT checks and routine maintenance, including backup verification, log reviews, and visual inspections of server rooms.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve software and hardware issues, identifying appropriate solutions to minimise disruption.
- Manage, resolve, and escalate IT incidents and change requests through the IT Service Desk system.
- Install, configure, and deploy new IT hardware and software, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
- Provide IT support for new starters and leavers, including the setup and relocation of PCs, telephones, and workstations.
- Ensure all PCs, laptops, and servers are patched within the required compliance timeframes.
- Deliver IT projects as assigned by management and provide technical support to other departments where required.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, and industry requirements.
- Support the organisation in maintaining relevant certifications and compliance standards, including ISO 27001.
- Undertake out-of-hours IT support when required to assist with project delivery and business continuity.
- Liaise with key external suppliers and raise support calls when specialist assistance is required.
- Provide support for MES and ERP systems, including the development and maintenance of reports.
- Install and terminate network cabling and undertake cable runs as required, with IPAF 3A/3B training provided.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
- Attend and actively participate in IT security and awareness training programmes.
- Identify and report non-conformances and information security incidents
About You;
- Proven experience working in an IT role, such as IT Support Engineer or similar
- Strong knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, and network troubleshooting
- Experience installing servers and supporting server migrations
- Knowledge of networking and firewall technologies
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Educated to a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent)
- SQL knowledge/experience
