MTrec Recruitment are supporting our long-standing and prestigious client in their search for a contract IT Technician. The role will be supporting a global rollout of hardware and software and would be well suited to those with previous experience in end user computing/ 2nd Line IT support.
This is a 3-month contract, with potential for extension, depending on the status of the project.

The Job you will do:
- Installation, configuration, and deployment of PCs and laptops for end users (hardware setup, OS imaging, software installation)
- Configuration of user profiles, network drives, email clients, and access to corporate resources
- Active Directory administration: creating and managing user accounts, password resets, account unlocking, and group/permission assignments
- Providing 1st line IT support during system integration and migration processes
- Logging, tracking, and resolving support tickets via the corporate ITSM platform; escalating complex issues to 2nd/3rd line teams
- Troubleshooting Virtual Machine (VM) access and virtualised application issues for end users
- Basic network diagnostics and escalation of infrastructure-related incidents to the relevant teams
- Maintaining IT asset inventory and ensuring accurate documentation of all hardware deployments
- Ensuring compliance with corporate IT security policies and governance standard
About you:
- Previous experience in a 2nd line IT Support role is essential.
- Hardware and software rollout experience is essential
- You will be a natural communicator and able to work with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail is a must
- You must be local to work at the company site in Northumberland
- Full right to work in the UK is essential.
