National Distribution / Transport Systems Lead

Remote role with extensive travel

c£60,000 - £75,000 depending on skills and experience + car allowance and benefits

As part of its continued growth journey, this award-winning, sustainability-focused national logistics business is searching for a talented Distribution Systems Specialist to join their team.

In this key position, you'll play a pivotal role in:

• Programme managing new hardware & software implementations across new depots and customers, ensuring successful completion and ongoing hyper care support.
• Optimizing existing systems to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and best-in-class service.
• Partnering with operations and suppliers to identify and implement process improvements.
• Championing user training and knowledge sharing to ensure successful system adoption.
• Overseeing supplier relationships and ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Maintaining business continuity by collaborating on disaster recovery plans.
• Managing continuous improvement initiatives from concept to delivery, working with internal stakeholders to deliver.
• Interacting and aligning with internal IT department to ensure strategic goals are achieved and systems perform in line with business expectations.

You'll thrive if you have:

• Experience deploying and managing transport management systems (TMS) and other distribution systems.
• Extensive knowledge of the marketplace for transport and distribution systems.
• A passion for continuous improvement and a proven track record of delivering successful logistics initiatives.
• Strong project management skills and experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of the logistics industry and its regulatory landscape.  Experience gained in an operational environment would be an advantage.
